Williamsport Country Club hires renowned Chef
Executive Chef Matthew Wood recently took over the culinary operations at the Williamsport Country Club. Wood joins the Club from the Atlanta, Georgia area where he worked for more than 9 years as executive chef at Coosa Country Club. Matthew was raised in New Orleans, Louisiana and had a strong interest in food at a very young age. His first professional job was at Antoine’s in the French Quarter. He continued his culinary career at Restaurant Jonathan, a prestigious restaurant in New Orleans before moving to Tennessee to open his own restaurant. During his restaurant’s eleven-year run, the restaurant was the recipient of the “Small Business of the Year Award” and received numerous positive write ups and reviews. He has hosted his own morning cooking show on a local NBC affiliate and had his Banana Coconut Rum Cake recipe featured in Bon Appetit magazine on three different occasions during that time period.
