Mr., Mrs. Angelo Silvagni observe 70th anniversary

Mr. and Mrs. Angelo Silvagni, Williamsport, will observe their 70th wedding anniversary Jan. 18, 2013.

They were married by the Rev. Alphonso Manley at Mater Dolorosa Church. They are members of St. Ann Roman Catholic Church.

Mrs. Silvagni, the former Marilouise Amanda Hill, is a native of Muncy. She is the daughter of the late Marguerite (Phillips) and Reno Hill. She graduated from Muncy Creek High School in 1941.

Mr. Silvagni, a native of Williamsport, is the son of the late Rose and Vincenzo Silvagni. He attended Williamsport Area High School and graduated from Williamsport Area Technical Institute in 1947. He served in the 5th and 7th Army in European Theater of Operations during World War II from 1943 to 1945. He retired in 1998 from F.&A. Silvagni Appliances as business partner and owner.

They are the parents of three daughters, Melanie S. Thomas, and Angela C., both of Williamsport, and the late Barbara Jo Lukehart, and a son, Michael W., Williamsport.

There are nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

In honor of their anniversary, a surprise dinner hosted by their family was held Dec. 22 at the Villa Restaurant.
