Mr., Mrs. Ronald MacKenzie observe 70th anniversary
Mr. and Mrs. Ronald MacKenzie, Williamsport, will observe their 70th wedding anniversary Jan. 16, 2013.
They were married by the Rev. Paul Austen at St. Alice Roman Catholic Church, Stonehurst. They are members of St. Boniface Roman Catholic Church.
Mrs. MacKenzie, the former Virginia Mary Kehoe, is a native of Philadelphia. She is the daughter of the late Virginia Campbell and William Kehoe. She graduated from West Philadelphia Catholic Girls High School, Philadelphia, in 1941. She is a homemaker.
Mr. MacKenzie, a native of Philadelphia, is the son of the late Maude Adams and Lewis Porteus MacKenzie. He graduated from Springfield High School in 1941 and received a bachelor’s degree in architecture from Drexel University, Philadelphia, in 1953. he served in the Coast Guard during World War II. He retired in 1973 from MacKenzie and Nimmer, General Contractors, Philadelphia, as the president, and retired in 1994 from J.B. Gibbons Construction, General Contractors, as an estimator.
They are the parents of four daughters, Virginia Axtell, Oakland, Calif.; Linda Kennerly, Littleton, Colo.; and Theresa and Marianne, both of Lakewood, Colo.; and two sons, Randall and Robert, both of Williamsport.
There is one grandson.
In honor of their anniversary, a family dinner in Williamsport is being planned.
