Mr., Mrs. Jay Weidman observe 50th anniversary

Mr. and Mrs. Jay Weidman, Knoxville, will observe their 50th anniversary June 1, 2013.

They were married by the Rev. Clyde Matthewson at Butler Hill Baptist Church, Knoxville.

Mrs. Weidman, the former Kaye Linder, is a native of Knoxville. She is the daughter of Evadna Linder, Knoxville, and the late Kenwood Linder. She graduated from Cowanesque Valley High School, Westfield, in 1959. She retired in 2004 as a district justice secretary in Elkland after more than 18 years of service.

Mr. Weidman, a native of Corning, N.Y., is the son of the late Madelyn and Lynn Weidman. He graduated from Cowanesque Valley High School in 1959 and from the former Williamsport Technical Institute, now Pennsylvania College of Technology, in 1962. He was employed by Eastern Industries, Windfield for 20 years, and retired in 2006 from Supt. Quarry, Lewisburg.

They are the parents of a son, Michael, and a daughter, Terri Patterson, both of Reinholds.

There are four grandchildren.

In honor of their anniversary, a celebration at the community center in Knoxville is being planned.
