Rev. and Mrs. Charles Johnson observe 60th anniversary

The Rev. and Mrs. Charles P. Johnson observed their 60th wedding anniversary June 12, 2013.

They were married in Lake City, Mich., and are members of First United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Johnson, the former Donna Joyce Huss, is a native of South Bend, Ind. She is the daughter of the late Maybel and Carl Huss. She attended Hope College, Holland, Mich., received a bachelor’s degree from Trenton State Teachers College, Trenton, N.J., and a masters degree from Patterson College, Patterson, N.J.

Mr. Johnson is a native of Wyandotte, Mich. He is the son of the late Grace and Brandt L. Johnson. He graduated from Hope College in 1954 and from Western Theological Seminary, Holland, in 1957. He was ordained at Reformed Church in America and served churches in Meservey, Iowa; Gray Hawk, Ky.; Gladstone, N.J.; Habrington Park, N.J.; Sultanate of Oman and Bahrain.

They are the parents of a daughter, Denelda L. Giovinazzo, Front Royal, Va., and three sons, Steven P., Cogan Station, Eric M., Radford, Va., and Philip W., Kalamazoo, Mich.

There are 14 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
