Couple observe 45th anniversary

Mr. and Mrs. James E. Stahl, of Muncy, observed their 45th wedding anniversary Aug. 17, 2013.

They were married by the Rev. Jack R. Gardner at Christ Lutheran Church, Montgomery. They are members of St. Andrew Lutheran Church, Muncy.

Mrs. Stahl, the former Jonnie L. Miller, is a native of Montgomery. She is the daughter of the late Freda (Yocum) and John Miller. She graduated from Montgomery Area High School in 1963, from Lock Haven University in 1968, and received a master’s degree from Bloomsburg University. She retired in 2005 from Milton Area School District as a second grade teacher at White Deer Elementary School.

Mr. Stahl, a native of Montgomery, is the son of the late Emelene (Widell) and Richard F. Stahl. He graduated from Montgomery Area High School in 1960 and served in the Army from 1964 to 1966 during the Vietnam War (August 1965 to February 1966.) He retired in 2004 from Fairfield Manufacturing as a machinist.

They are the parents of a son, Christopher J., of Havertown.

In honor of their anniversary, a trip to Aruba was taken in July in conjunction with their son’s wedding.

Mr. and Mrs. Phil Landers, of Williamsport, observed their 45th wedding anniversary Aug. 31, 2013.

They were married by the Rev. Russell Berger at St. John’s United Church of Christ. They are members of New Covenant United Church of Christ.

Mrs. Landers, the former Gail Bower, is the daughter of the late Luetta and Everitt Bower. She graduated from Williamsport Area High School in 1965 and from the former Bloomsburg State College, now Bloomsburg University, in 1969. She retired in 2011 from Pennsylvania College of Technology Children’s Learning Center as an educator.

Mr. Landers, a native of Norwich, N.Y., is the son of the late Dorothy and David Landers. He graduated from Central Columbia High School, Espy, in 1963, from Bloomsburg University in 1967, and Michigan State University, East Lansing, Mich., in1968. He retired in 2011 from Pennsylvania College of Technology as a professor of accounting.

They are the parents of two daughters, Melanie Curtis, of Purcellville, Va., and the Rev. Mollie Landers, of Portland, Maine, and three sons, Matthew, of Stephenson, Va, David, of Sobieski, Wis., and Peter, of Paoli.

There are seven grandchildren.

In honor of their anniversary, they are returning to their place of introduction, in Eagles Mere.
