Mr., Mrs. R. Donald Waltz observe 60th anniversary

Mr. and Mrs. R. Donald Waltz Sr., of Williamsport, will observe their 60th wedding anniversary Oct. 3, 2013.

They were married by the Rev. Ira Sassaman at St. Matthew Lutheran Church. They are members of Redeemer Lutheran Church.

Mrs. Waltz, the former Margaret A. Pass, is a native of Williamsport. She is the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. George Pass. She graduated from Williamsport High School and retired from Westvaco Inc.

Mr. Waltz, a native of Williamsport, is the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles Waltz. He attended Williamsport High School and served in the Navy during the Korean War. He retired from Textron Lycoming Inc.

They are the parents of twin daughters, Katherine Heltman, of Cogan Station, and Mary Lepley, of Williamsport, and two sons, R. Donald Jr., of Hughesville, and Douglas, of Wilmington, Del.

There are six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

In honor of their anniversary, a celebration hosted by their children was held at the Trout Run Firehall in August.
