Mr., Mrs. Kaczmarek observe 50th anniversary

Pat (Zelner) and Tom Kaczmarek, of South Williamsport, observed their 50th wedding anniversary Aug. 26, 2017.

They were married by the Rev. W. Grahm at Mother of Consolation Church, Mt. Carmel.

Mrs. Kaczmarek, a native Mt. Carmel, is the daughter of the late Mary and Pete Zelner. She graduated from Mt. Carmel Catholic High School in 1963, received a bachelor’s degree in education in 1967 and a master’s degree in education in 1992, both from Bloomsburg University. She retired in 2004 from Montgomery Area School District as an elementary school teacher.

Mr. Kaczmarek, a native of Locust Gap, is the son of the late Mary and Ed Kaczmarek. He graduated from Mt. Carmel Area High School in 1961, received a bachelor’s degree in science education from Bloomsburg University in 1965 and a master’s degree in science from Syracuse University in 1972. He retired in 1998 from South Williamsport Area High School as a teacher.

They are the parents of a daughter, Kristine, of Swedesboro, New Jersey, and a son, Kevin, of Elysburg.

They have three grandsons and two granddaughters.

In honor of their anniversary, a surprise party, hosted by their children, was held at the Sticky Elbow on Aug. 12. A family vacation at Sea Isle City also was taken.
