Mr., Mrs. Weaver observe 65th anniversary


Helen Betty (Botts) and Merlin “Smokey” H. Weaver, of Loyalsock Township, observed their 65th wedding anniversary on Aug. 11, 2018.

They were married by Alderman William J. Mussina in Williamsport.

Mrs. Weaver, a native of Williamsport, is the daughter of the late Carrie and Leonard Botts. She retired from the American Rescue Workers.

Mr. Weaver, a native of Williamsport, is the son of the late Helen and Clifford Weaver. He retired from Moore’s Building Supplies and Strouse Brothers Contractors.

They are the parents of two sons, Clifford M., of Williamsport, and Michael D., of San Diego, California; and three daughters, Sharon L. Tompkins, of Williamsport, Carrie M. Peck, of Montgomery, and Barbara A., of Philadelphia.

There are 14 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

In honor of their anniversary, a celebration was held on Aug. 11 at the home of Sharon and Harry Tompkins.
