High school sweethearts celebrate 30th anniversary

Jim and Lauri Moon, of Old Lycoming Township, will celebrate 30 years of marriage on April 22 while on a trip to 1000 Islands, New York. They were married by Father John Poplawski at Ascension Parish in Williamsport, which is now part of St. Joseph the Worker Parish. The Moons are high school sweethearts and have been together for 34 years.

The former Lauri Oliver is the daughter of David Oliver and Darlene Snook. She graduated from Williamsport Area High School in 1988 and is currently the manager, training and outreach for the Innovative Manufacturers Center (IMC) and coordinator for the Williamsport/Lycoming Keystone Innovation Zone. She also volunteers with several local organizations including Leadership Lycoming, Greater Lycoming Habitat for Humanity and Relay for Life.

Jim is the son of the late James and Carol Moon and graduated from Williamsport Area High School in 1987. Jim is head maintenance with Grampian Hills Apartments.

The couple are parents to Steven and Veronica Moon, both of Williamsport.
