Local couple celebrate platinum anniversary

Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd E. Furman, 2197 Mahaffey Lane, will be observing their 70th wedding anniversary on Thursday, April 25.

They were married by the Rev. Charles M. LeFew at Washington Square Methodist Church, Hagerstown, Maryland.

They are members of Trinity United Methodist Church on Lycoming Creek Road.

Mrs. Furman, the former Norma J. Koch, is a native of Cogan Station.

Mr. Furman is a native of Williamsport. He retired from Textron Lycoming and served in the Army during World War II.

They are the parents of two sons, Lloyd E. II (Susan), of Cogan Station, and Max W. (Kathy), of Elimsport; and two daughters, Pauline F. Schreck (Carl), of Mifflinburg, and Janice L. Graybill (Chuck), of South Williamsport.

There are eight grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
