Library offers tax filing assistance
The James V. Brown Library is once again participating in the I-CAN! E-File program designed to assist taxpayers in securing their maximum return.
Go to www.jvbrown.edu and under the menu on the left-hand side select “Site Menu” and click on “I-CAN! E-File” under “Information Services.”
I-CAN! E-File is an Internet-based application so there is no software to download. If you do not have Adobe Reader you will need to download it to print your forms. I-CAN! E-File can help you prepare and E-File your taxes. Just answer simple questions on each screen and I-CAN! E-File will complete your tax return.
When you prepare your federal return, I-CAN! E-File also can help you prepare your state return.
Let I-CAN! E-file do the paperwork for you and get your refund fast and easy.
If you e-file your return and use direct deposit, you should receive your return within 10 to 14 days after the date your return is accepted by the IRS.
You can use I-CAN! E-File unless you (or your spouse, if filing together) are in the military, are a church employee, a non-resident alien, sold real estate or you or your employer have a non-U.S. address.
Using I-CAN! E-File generally takes 30 minutes and you do not have to finish all questions at one time. You can exit and return later and continue entering your information.
