Finding your next good read at the James V. Brown Library

The James V. Brown Library is happy to announce a new service for all lovers of reading.

Simply fill out an online questionnaire about your reading habits, likes and dislikes. When completed, a team of highly-trained library professionals will provide a list of 10 to 15 books available through the Lycoming County Library System compiled into a Personalized Reading List.

The questionnaire can be found on the homepage of the library’s website, www.jvbrown.edu.

If unable to access online, the library can print copies.

Are you on Goodreads? It’s the largest site for readers and book recommendations in the world. A home for casual readers and bona-fide bookworms alike, Goodreads users recommend books, compare what they are reading, keep track of what they’ve read and would like to read, find their next favorite book, form book clubs and much more.

When you become a Goodreads friend of the James V. Brown Library, you can see what new fiction and nonfiction titles (both in print and e-books) the library has, see what will be filling our shelves in the coming months, read reviews, check out staff picks, and find suggestions for your next great read.

Goodreads is also available in app form, called BookMyne, at jvbrown.edu/blog/bookmyne-free-mobile-app.

Coming soon is a new service on the website BookPsychic.

With BookPsychic, high-quality suggestions are drawn from the library’s collection.

As the user rates more items on BookPsychic, more, better personalized suggestions for books, audiobooks, e-books and DVDs become available.

The James V. Brown Library is open 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. week days from and noon to 5 p.m. weekends, and we always are open at www.jvbrown.edu.
