Habitat ReStore celebrates five years

Greater Lycoming Habitat for Humanity’s ReStore celebrated its fifth year in operation in conjunction with its Earth Day events.

The community participated in the celebration that went on throughout the day on April 27, by taking part in a treasure hunt of free ReStore items and eating free hot dogs and drinks.

The Habitat ReStore is a community project retailing donated building materials to the general public at 50 to 70 percent off of full retail prices.

The Habitat ReStore accepts contributions of new and gently used materials from individuals, contractors and retail building supply stores.

Contributors avoid hauling costs and receive a tax deduction while diverting salvageable items from our local landfill and proceeds from the sale of these materials help support the building mission.

When people shop, donate or volunteer at the Greater Lycoming Habitat for Humanity ReStore, they are helping to build homes, community and hope for families in this area.

For more information about donating to the ReStore, call 322-2515 or visit www.lycomingha bitat.org.
