Lewisburg Garden Club to hold garden tour
LEWISBURG – The Lewisburg Garden Club’s fifth annual A Garden Tour of Lewisburg will be held 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, rain or shine. The tour will feature six local gardens. Light refreshments will be served and guides will be available. Tickets are $10 each; children ages 12 and under are free.
Garden’s within the borough of Lewisburg include Betty Lou McClure’s “God’s Grace Garden,” 63 University Ave.; April Fairweather’s “The Fair Weather Garden,” 27 South Water St.; and the Lewisburg Community Garden, North Water and St. Anthony Streets. Also on the tour are Iris Haseloff’s “The White House with the Blue Door,” 544 Stein Lane; Joyce and Earl Stogner’s “Stogner’s Sprouts,” 266 Golfview Drive; and Renee and Glen Feltham’s “The House on Turtle Creek,” 343 Turtle Creek – each in nearby East Buffalo Township.
“Dedicated and imaginative gardeners such as Lewisburg Garden Club members Betty Lou McClure and Joyce Stogner and all the others on our tour serve as a real inspiration to those who attend,” said Gabriele Antensteiner, chair of the event. “We are expecting several hundred visitors,” she says.
Tickets are available at Susquehanna River Valley Visitors Bureau, Route 15 N.; The Purple Platypus, 225 Market St.; The Mercantile, 319 Market St.; Cherry Alley Cafe, 21 N. Third St.; Reiff’s Greenhouse, 446 Strickler Road (off Route 45).
