Camp Ladybug for Women to be held in July

WEST MILTON – Camp Ladybug for Women is now accepting registrations for camp 2013 to be held July 17 through 21. Camp Ladybug is hosted on the grounds of Central Oak Heights.

The long weekend is designed especially for women to take a break from the stress of daily living. Women tend to be sandwiched between taking care of children and parents caring for everyone else, before themselves.

This is an opportunity to unplug from the computer, cell phone, car pool and reclaim themselves. Enjoy a weekend of fun, music, food and creativity.

Campers decide how to spend their time at camp.

They can bring a project along that they have been wanting to work on from home or catch up on their reading. They can choose to do absolutely nothing or join in with any activities.

Some of the activities include aquacize sessions in the pool, led by staff from Evangelical Community Hospital, swimming, yoga, guest speakers, musicians, arts, crafts, a jewelry workshop, country line dancing, games and music. Evenings include campfires, s’mores and more.

After brunch on Sunday morning, a nondenominational, worship service will be held in the outdoor Sylvan Chapel.

The cost of the weekend getaway is $295 for 3 days or $345 for 4 days Price includes housing (each cabin sleeps five women), all meals, workshops, arts and crafts (including materials), swimming, presentations by guest speakers and all activities.

Each camper will receive a camp T-shirt and group photo. Massage and Reiki are an additional cost.

Arrival time for camp is from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. July 17 or 18 and send-off is noon July 21.

“I want this to be a place where women come to relax and refresh themselves, body, mind and spirit,” said Terry Stahley, camp director. “A place where responsibilities, cell phones and worries are left behind for a few days. A place where women can pamper themselves with a massage, sleep until they wake up, read a book, take a nap or take a walk in the woods. Play, create, relax, and dream. Reunite with the girl inside and have some fun.”

Those interested should register before June 25.
