Warrior Run Library to hold events

McEWENSVILLE – The Montgomery House Warrior Run Area Public Library, 20 Church St., will hold the following events for their summer reading program for the month of July:

– 11 a.m. July 2 – discussion about caves. For kids ages 6 to 9 years.

– 11 a.m. July 3 -Discussion about caves. For kids ages 4 months to 6 years.

– 1 p.m. July 5 -Viewing of “The Goonies.” Film is rated PG and is 114 minutes long.

Vision and Learning Center to hold workshop

Vera Bradley Bingo

FLEMINGTON – A Vera Bradley Bingo will be held July 14 at Goodwill Hose Co., Redeye Center, 516 1/2 Canal St.

The event will benefit Destyne McKeague and Chelsea Miller for a trip to Costa Rica.

Doors open at 11 a.m. and game begins at 1 p.m.

Cancer survivors and public invited to ‘Hearts of Hope’ event

BLOSSBURG – All Tioga County cancer survivors and caregivers, as well as the general public, are invited to Hearts of Hope at 7 p.m. tonight in the Victoria Theatre, 222 Main St.

The event will include a meet and greet time for survivors, a professional video of a recent local Relay For Life event, details about the upcoming Relay event, and information about the work of the American Cancer Society. There also will be drawings for gifts. Light refreshments will be served.

Piper plane display at Ross Library

LOCK HAVEN – The Ross Library, 232 W. Main St., now has a display of Piper memorabilia on the first floor.

The items are on loan from the family of Ernest Kerstetter. Kerstetter, a fan and collector of local history, passed away recently. The display is set up in his memory. The public is invited to view the artifacts, which include Fly-In programs, Piper mugs, a necktie and many other items.

Also on display for the month of June are antique paper dolls from the library’s collection, recently donated bookmarks and a showing of photography by the Clinton County Camera Club in the gallery.

The library is open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays; and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesdays and Fridays. The library also is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. during the summer on Saturdays.

Ed Bouse Memorial Poker Run

JERSEY SHORE – The 22nd annual Ed Bouse Memorial Poker Run will be held at 11:30 a.m., Saturday at the Jersey Shore American Legion, 320 Seminary St.

Registration begins at 9:30 a.m. Cost is $15 per bike and driver and $5 per passenger. The proceeds go towards Susquehanna Hospice.

June E. Baskin Art Camp to be held

The 8th annual Dr. June E. Baskin Art Camp, will be held from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Monday at the First Church North Campus, 1157 Market St.

Participating students were selected through a process involving the county middle and high schools and their respective art teachers. This year, each county district has at least one student enrolled in the camp.

The camp is designed for students to create art for themselves and to work together and create a community piece, which often has been displayed locally.

The camp will feature the following guest artists as instructors: Kathy Gorg, mosaics; Robert Schultz, assemblage; Deb Parsons, glass suncatcher; Victoria Stetts, sculpture; and Marilyn Seeling, presentation.

The camp is staffed and organized by a committee which is chaired by Jackie Thomas and includes Robert Schultz, Deb Parsons, Amy Messersmith, Dave McGarvey, Jeremiah Johnson and Linda Holland.

The camp is free to the students. Each student receives tools and media to continue their art experience after the camp. An exhibit of the works will be held throughout the month of September at the Thomas T. Taber Museum, 858 W. Fourth St.

MANSFIELD – An ice cream social will be held from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. June 22, at Roseville United Methodist Church, Route 549.
