Turbotville Lions announce charitable contributions

TURBOTVILLE – Lion President Glenda Yost of the Turbotville Area Lions Club announced charitable contributions exceeding $13,000 have been made from July 1, 2012, to June 30, 2013.

The club made contributions to: Pennsylvania Lions Beacon Lodge for the blind; Camp Victory for handicapped children; local civic improvement and local aid; Lions International Diabetes; Ear and Eye Research; eyeglasses and other special eye needs for students in the Warrior Run School District; Lions Care International Foundation; Central Susquehanna Sight Services; Muncy Historical Society; Red Cross of Upper Northumberland County; Activity Club of the Warrior Run Area High School; Warrior Run Area Middle School awards program; Warrior Run Neighbors Helping Neighbors; North Montour Recreation Association for the Exchange Pool; Warrior Run Community Cooperation Pathways Project; Warrior Run Area Fire Department; Warrior Run Women’s Club; Warrior Run Rocket Swim Team; Turbotville Community Hall Corporation; Ronald McDonald House of Danville; Turbotville Area Youth (Boy’s, Girl’s and Cub Scouts; Warrior Run Little League, girls softball, exchange and Turbotville midget baseball programs; Memorial Award program honoring our past members by selecting two outstanding seniors; Student of the Month, and sponsoring the outstanding Student of the Month Dinner at the Warrior Run Area High School; Leo Club at the Warrior Run Area High and Middle School); Montgomery House Library; annual Christmas program that provides gifts and food for those in need; North East PA Lions Eye Bank; Camp Cadet; RIF Program; Turbotville community Thanksgiving dinner; BSA National Jamboree in West Virginia (Troop 622); Heart to Heart Ministries; and Newtown Lion’s Club program to help counsel the families of the Newtown, Conn., school tragedy.

These charitable contributions are the results of the community’s support of food stands at the Turbotville Firemen’s Carnival, Lycoming County Fair, Turbotville Augustfest, Lions Basket Bingo and all who have purchased homemade apple butter at Gander Mountain, Sam’s Club, Lewisburg Farmers Market and Turbotville Great Valve.
