Look Good Feel Better and Free Wig Programs help woman with cancer bond
Hope, confidence and caring are three words that embody the Look Good Feel Better program.
The sessions are free and led by licensed beauty professionals trained to help cancer patients cope with hair loss, skin changes and other appearance-related side effects of cancer. The LGFB program has helped women with cancer improve their self-esteem and manage their cancer treatment and recovery through workshops, practical tips and guidance.
On Monday, Susquehanna Health will host a LGFB in the Cancer Center Conference Room located on the Divine Providence Hospital campus. The session will be led by Jenny Poorman, licensed beauty professional. The workshop will begin at 11 a.m. and Susquehanna Health will provide a light lunch.
Carol Confer, LGFB facilitator, will lead a workshop beginning at 6 p.m. Aug. 14. This session is hosted by Susque-View in Lock Haven and Cindy Vangorder will assist Confer. Susque-View will provide a light refreshment.
The program, a collaboration of the American Cancer Society, the Personal Care Products Council Foundation and the National Cosmetology Association/Professional Beauty Association, celebrates woman and their cancer journey.
