Lysock View to hold Garden Fest

Garden Fest will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Lysock View Complex, 542 County Farm Road, Montoursville.

The event will be held rain or shine and will be presented by Penn State Cooperative Extension’s Lycoming County Master Gardeners. Perennial, native, vegetable and rose gardens will be on display. There also will be speakers, a plant and garden treasure sale, refreshments and various education demonstrations.

Featured free workshops include:

– 10 a.m. – Winter Landscape, Carl Bower, horticulture professor at Pennsylvania College of Technology.

– 11 a.m. – Arranging Garden Flowers, Kelli Stiber from Mystic Garden Floral Studio.

– Noon – Cooking From Your Garden with Irene Harrison, Lycoming County master gardener.

– 1 p.m. – “The Mushroom Guy,” Bill Russell. Following the presentation, Russell will take a group along the Conservation Learning Trail adjoining the gardens, to identify mushrooms in nature.

– 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. – Ask the Experts, bring your garden questions and samples for diagnosis, identification and recommendations.
