St. Mary’s class of 1953 holds 60th reunion
The former St. Mary’s High School class of 1953 held its 60th reunion on August 9 and 10.
Friday was a casual night at Paul Beiter’s house on Grampian Blvd.
There were 18 guests. Saturday began with mass at St. Boniface Church followed by dinner at The Genetti Hotel.
The invocation was given by Mary Hamm Formica. After dinner, John Pulizzi, class president, narrated with comical remarks a video of memorable past events of class members and school activities, jogging memories of those in attendance.
The reunion committee was: Mary Fischer McFadden, chairman, Paul Beiter, treasurer, Marilyn Neidig Pautz and Carol Dietrick Sortman. There were 32 people at the dinner; 19 were class members.
Attending were: John Pulizzi, Va.; Nan Finkele Jandrosits, Fla.; JoAnne Barletta Neiderer, Md.; Mary Fischer McFadden, Aliquippa; Mary Hamm Formica, Harrisburg; Gloria Thomke, New Cumberland; Mary Jane Eiswerth Gawryla, State College; Paul Beiter, Thomas Heffner, Gerald McGee, Thomas Steele, James Waldman, Janet Bertin Myers, Carol Dietrick Sortman, Mary Mitsdarfer Yetter, Marilyn Neidig Pautz, Patricia Sember Rell, Vivian Steinbacher Eck, and Teresa Waldman Staib, all local residents.
A monetary donation was made to the Mary Lou Beiter Scholarship Fund at St. John Neumann Regional Academy.
