Packwood House Museum to host free children’s instrument making workshop

LEWISBURG – The Packwood House Museum will host a free children’s homemade instrument making workshop and music program featuring Randy and Josey Brendle on Oct. 12.

The workshop will begin at 10 a.m. and has limited seating, so registration is required.

The musical portion of the program will begin at noon and is open to all ages. The program will take place at the Packwood House Museum Tour Center, 15 N. Water St. To register, call the Museum at 524-0323.

The Brendles, also known as Echoing Heart Productions, of Benton, specialize in hands-on programs for children and families that “combine history, music, art, legend and down-to-earth skills for living.”

They are historic interpreters at the Hay Creek Historic Fall Festival, the Historic Joanna Furnace near Morgantown, and have performed at Danville’s Iron Heritage Festival and the PA German Folk Festival in Kutztown.

They also are members of the National Association of Interpretation and have presented their Homemade Instrument Making workshop at the National Convention.
