Clio Club welcomes mystery writer
Micharl Capuzzo, American journalist and author of The New York Times best-selling nonfiction books, will speak about the Vodocq Society at the Pine Stree United Methodist Church before the clio Club at 7 p.m. Nov. 13. The Vodocq Society is a private dining club of famous detectives who solve cold cases of murder.
Capuzzo’s book, “The Murder Room,” is the true story of the group of sleuths who work to solve murder cases. He also has written “Close to Shore,” a historic thriller and recreation of the first American shark attack in New Jersey during World War I.
An American TV series based on “The Murder Room” is under development for the CBS television studio. In addition, Capuzzo has appeared nationwide as a keynote speaker at colleges, such as Rutgers University.
Capuzzo currently lives in Wellsboro with his wife Teresa Banik Capuzzo a native of that town. Together they started Mountain Home magazine, which circulates from Williamsport to the Finger Lakes. They met when both worked at The Philadelphia Inquirer as journalists.
