Dress up and discover at the Military Museum

BOALSBURG – Children of all ages get to dress up in uniforms and equipment of the American combat soldier at the Pennsylvania Military Museum from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.

The annual event highlights the museum’s education collection, which offers a “hands-on” opportunity for young and old alike to picture themselves in the military services.

A selection of camouflage netting, ammo boxes and service flags provide a background for photos.

Education stations throughout the galleries will feature a hands-on shoulder and automatic weapons exhibit and scale model displays of aircraft and armored vehicles. Special buy-one-get-one free admission rates will be in effect for the day although additional donations are welcome.

The Pennsylvania Military Museum and 28th Infantry Division Shrine, located on Business 322, is one of 25 historic sites and museums administered by the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission as part of the Pennsylvania Trails of History.
