Friends of library fund new server
The Friends of the James V. Brown Library like to grant wishes – specifically those made by the library administration and staff. This month, the Friends voted to fund a new server to replace an aging one at the cost of $4,500. This donation follows several others for a total of $40,000 so far in 2013.
Friends raise funds through membership dues and donations, two major book sales each year, and proceeds from sales at the Friends’ Favorites Gently Used Bookstore on the third floor of the Welch Wing of the James V. Brown Library.
The annual full membership Meeting of the Friends of the James V. Brown Library will be held in conjunction with the December Board of Directors meeting. Members are invited to the Lowry theater room on the third floor of the Welch Family Wing of the library. It will begin at 5:15 p.m. Dec. 3. This is an opportunity for the full membership to meet members of the board, to elect new board members and officers, to hear the annual reports of the present committee chairs and to learn about upcoming events.
Refreshments in the form of a light supper will be shared at no charge.
Applications for membership are available at the James V. Brown Library or online at www.jvbrown.edu.
