Annual Frostbite races to be held
Special Olympics Lycoming County will be the beneficiary of funds raised from the 33rd Annual Frostbite 5 Mile Run and the 10th annual Penguin 5K Walk. This year’s events are scheduled to be held at 1 p.m. Sunday Race day registration will take place at the DuBoistown Fire Hall starting at 11 a.m.
Individuals participating in the events are eligible for age group awards, will be treated to pizza, fruit and drinks and door prize drawings. Individuals registering before race day will receive long sleeve shirts with limited shirts being available for late entrants. A fee will be charged to all participating individuals.

The races take place in DuBoistown and Armstrong Township. The events will be electronically timed by PARUNNERS and volunteers will provide traffic control and medical support.
Special Olympics is a sports training and competition organization for mentally challenged individuals over the age of 7. Lycoming County offers opportunities to 170 individuals in 15 different team and individual Olympic type sports throughout the year.
