JVB Check It Out
During the busy holiday season, let the Lycoming County Library System help keep track of library materials through the Library Elf service.
The Library Elf is a Web-based and email tool for library users.
Think of it as a personal assistant, whose task is to help avoid overdue fines with email and text alerts, check multiple library cards at once and give reminders when holds are available.
How does Library Elf work? Email alerts are sent before the items are due and text message alerts are delivered two days before an item is due and readers can check all accounts at once through their Internet browser.
Library Elf is designed with the busy or avid library user in mind.
It is ideal for families with multiple library cards. It offers one location to gather everyone’s account information.
To subscribe, visit the Lycoming County Library System’s website at www.lycolibrary.org or your local library’s website and click on Library Elf.
Users will need a valid email address and library card to register.
This service is free to all Lycoming County residents.
Lycoming County Library System users have an automatic premium subscription at no cost.
However for those that do have overdue fines, the James V. Brown Library is offering a clearance sale where customers can clear their records of all overdue fees by paying 50 percent of the total amount due.
This is a one-time-only offer at the James V. Brown Library and is good through Dec. 31.
