Relay For Life past honorary chair participates in parade
The 2010 honorary chair of Milton Area Relay For Life, Madacyn Walter, 7, daughter of Reanne and Timothy Walter, of Milton, participated in the Santa Parade at the Susquehanna Valley Mall Nov. 23.
In 2009, Walter was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. She was honored to be representing all children who are fighting cancer and proof that with expert medical care, they can not only beat cancer but thrive.
Walter rode in the “Drive Out Cancer” Mustang that was donated to the American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life. She pitched candy to the children along the parade route while smiling and waving to the crowd.
Raffle tickets for the Mustang are being sold throughout the area and are available from any active Relay For Life participant, at Relay events and at Selinsgrove Ford. All monies benefit local American Cancer Society programs such as Road To Recovery, Look Good Feel Better and Reach To Recovery. The car will appear at the Santa’s Secret Celebration at West Snyder Elementary School in Beaver Springs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dec. 14.
The American Cancer Society is available 24/7 at www.cancer.org or by calling 800-ACS-2345.
