Greyhound adoption events to be held

Monica’s Heart Greyhound will hold the the following retired racing greyhound adoption events.

Round square line dance to be held

TURBOTVILLE – A round and square line dance will be held from 7 to 10 p.m., Saturday and Feb. 15 at Turbotville Community Hall, Church Street. The band will be Cross N Over and the caller will be Larry Snook. Food will be available at 5:30 p.m.

Round and square dance to be held

WELLSBORO – A Round and Square dance will be held from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. Saturday at the Banquet Hall at Tioga County Fairgrounds, 2258 Charleston Road. Music will be by Shawn and Tim McNett, and McNett Country.

Montgomery senior citizens dinner

Montgomery area senior citizens will hold their meeting at noon, Feb. 4 at the Lutheran “Brick” church, 196 Brick Church Road. A covered dish dinner and blood pressure clinic will be available for old and new members.

Valentine’s Day card workshop to be held

LEWISBURG – A Valentine’s Day card workshop will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Feb. 7 at Packwood House Museum tour center, 15 N. Water St.. Susan Colon will show participants how to make valentines using various papers, decorations and stamps. Registration is required.

Pork and sauerkraut dinner to be held

NISBET – A pork and sauerkraut dinner will be held at 4 p.m. Feb. 8 at Nisbet Fire Hall, 166 W. Village Drive. The dinner will be sponsored by Nisbet United Methodist Church. There will be a cost.

Knights of Columbus to hold dinner

Fr. Rechsteiner Assembly of the Knights of Columbus will hold a chicken parmesan dinner from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. Feb. 8 at the Immaculate Conception Parish Hall, 5973 Jacks Hollow Road. Contra dancers to hold monthly dance

LEWISBURG – The Countryside Contra Dancers will hold their monthly contra dance from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. Feb. 8 at the Donald Heiter Community Center, 100 N. Fifth St.

The dance will feature live music by Lux Bridge with Karl Senseman calling.

All dances are taught, with basic figures from 7:30 to 8 p.m.

Newcomers of all ages are welcome. Dancers are asked to wear comfortable clothes and soft-soled, non-marking shoes.

There will be a fee for attendees over age 18. Under 16 must be accompanied by a guardian.

Quilt guild to meet

PENNSDALE – The Susquehanna Valley Quilt Guild will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday at Pennsdale United Methodist church, 658 Village Road. The meeting will discuss the upcoming quilt show to be held Feb. 28 through March 2 at the Hughesville Fire Hall. Member of Annual Quilter’s yard sale will be selling a variety of items including patterns, fabrics and tools. Guests and new members are welcome.

A free lunch for retirees will be served at noon Friday at Montoursville Presbyterian Church, 900 Elm St. Free donations will be accepted.

Winter train show to be held

MILTON – St. Joseph’s winter train show will be held Saturday at St. Joseph Parish Center, Broadway Road. There will be a cost for the show.

Set-up time will be from 7 to 9 a.m. and the show hours will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Kitchen hours will be from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Strobels to hold events

Strobels Sewing Center, 201 Basin St., will hold the following events:

Drunkard’s Path Sampler Block Class – 1 to 3:30 p.m., Wednesday. Learn how to construct this block and then continue creating other blocks to make a quilt at home.

Unfinished project night – 6 to 8:30 p.m., Jan. 28. Bring a sewing machine of choice and Ann Weaver will help finish those unfinished projects.

LEWISBURG – All women are invited to brunch at the Country Cupboard Restaurant at 9 a.m. today. The program will feature “Winter Nest Egg,” by Rich Allen of Ameriprise Financial Services.

The guest vocalist will be Jessica Hess presenting “Bundle Up with a Song.” The guest speaker will be Candi Johnson from Johnstown presenting “A Story For All Seasons.”
