Museum to hold sale and announces new tour schedule

LEWISBURG – The Packwood House Museum is in need of donations for its annual Attic Tag Sale, which will be held Feb. 25 through March 8. The sale will be held in the museum’s tour center, 15 N. Water St. All proceeds benefit Packwood House Museum.

Items that can be sold include books, jewelry, glass, china, kitchenware, furniture, toys, lamps, postcards, sporting equipment, craft items and holiday decorations. Items that will not be accepted include TVs, computers and clothing, although the museum does accept vintage accessories. Electronics and appliances will be accepted but must be in working order. All donations are tax-deductible.

The museum will reopen Feb. 11 after its winter break, and will begin to offer house tours on Tuesdays and Wednesdays by appointment only. Visitors interested in taking the tour on either of those days should schedule an appointment at least 24 hours in advance by calling the museum.

Thursday through Saturday, tours of the museum will continue to begin at 11 a.m., 1 p.m., and 3 p.m., and walk-ins are welcome. The Tour Center, Kelly Gallery and gift shop will remain open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.

Items for the attic sale can be dropped off by appointment or any time during regular operating hours.
