State troopers to serve, cook in support of youth development

LEWISBURG – The Rose Group, a leading franchisee of Applebee’s Neighborhood Grill and Bar restaurants in eastern Pennsylvania, Maryland, New Jersey and Delaware, will host its eighth annual celebrity service event for Camp Cadet from 5 to 9 p.m. today at the Lewisburg location, 300 International Drive.

“We cannot wait to host the celebrity service event for the eighth year in a row,” said Jeff Warden, CEO of The Rose Group. “Camp Cadet is an amazing program that provides youth with such valuable lessons and we are honored to be involved.”

For seven consecutive years, Applebee’s of Lewisburg has been a proud supporter of Camp Cadet and the development of youth.

Established in 2004, Camp Cadet is a weeklong self-esteem and team-building program for children ages 12 to 15 that teaches children the importance of teamwork and discipline through military drills, classes and demonstrations geared towards first aid and life skills.

More than a dozen of the area’s state troopers are expected to gear up in Applebee’s attire to cook, bartend and wait tables during the four-hour event.

All proceeds will go towards providing food, lodging and uniforms for the campers.

Last year, troopers raised $7,500 for Camp Cadet bringing the total to $49,500 since the partnership began.
