Chili cookoff and auction nets $6,300 for PACFI

MIFFLINBURG – The annual Pennsylvania Cystic Fibrosis Inc. (PACFI) chili cookoff and auction that was held at the Scarlet D recently, raised $6,300 for PACFI.

Bethany Umholtz kicked off the auction by singing “Wind Beneath My Wings.”

There were 24 chefs entered in the “hot” and “other” categories. Winners in the “hot” category were Luke Flickinger, first place; Greg Martin, second place; and Nick Cobino, third place. An honorable mention went to Tammy Rhyne and Most Unique was awarded to Tristan Roupp.

Greg Martin finished first in the “other” category followed by Tammy Rhyne in second place and Michelle Sanders in third place. Amber Sanders received an Honorable Mention and Terry Irwin won Most Unique. Best Presentation went to Martin.

PACFI is an independent, nonprofit, all-volunteer 501(c)(3) organization that provides services and supports for Pennsylvania families affected by cystic fibrosis (CF) and funds some of the nation’s best CF research.
