Homeless Pa. veteran’s pets can be adopted

MYERSTOWN – The last of 27 pets rescued from a homeless veteran’s car in Pennsylvania last month is now ready for a good home.

WFMZ-TV said Dori, a 4-month-old Persian kitten, has been at the Humane Society of Lebanon County since March 1.

That’s when she and 23 other cats and three dogs were found in a car parked at the Lebanon VA Medical Center.

The animals belonged to a veteran who lost her home and job and had checked herself into the hospital.

The other cats – all Persians and Siamese – and the three dogs – two cocker spaniels and a dachshund mix – were adopted.

Dori’s turn comes Wednesday.

A $200 fee will be applied to the adoption and will be donated to the Lebanon VA Medical Center.
