Beauty products to fight summer humidity

Ladies, we’re all no strangers to the humidity ruining not only our hair, but make-up.

I can tell you there have been days already this year where I’ve stepped out the door and immediately regretting spending time on my hair and make-up.

I know all too well, my foundation will feel sticky, my hair will go poofy and no amount of smudge proof liner will stay on my lids, no matter how carefully I apply it.

Well, I’ve found a couple products that might just save the day!

Photo Finish primer

This product has been a lifesaver to keep my make-up in line during things such as outdoor weddings, family reunions and days where you’re pretty sure the humidity level is able to been seen in the air.

All you need is a little dab on your finger.

Apply before putting on your foundation, but after you’ve put your moisturizer on for the day. A little goes a long way.

I like to put it all over my face, paying attention to my nose and other areas where your skin creases.

Not only does this primer help your make-up to stay put, it diminishes shine that can pop up and smoothes pores out, creating a flat, even surface to apply foundation to.

Sea Spray hair mist

I reviewed this product last year, but I cannot say enough.

I have fine hair – fine hair that likes to wave at the slightest drop of moisture, but not complete ringlet curls.

So on humid days, my hair looks like Albert Einstein with a bucket of water dumped on his head.

This spray has helped my hair hold volume and keep a nice looking wave on days where I know it’s not worth even turning my straightener on.

For beach goers, this is a great product to bring along rather than trying to figure out what to do with your hair.

Even if you don’t have wavy hair, give it a try. It works great on curly hair as well, defining curls and giving body to hair that might otherwise fall flat in the summer heat.

Avene Thermal

Spring Water

Before you roll your eyes, hear me out.

I received this product in my May 2014 Ipsy bag.

I dismissed the product and didn’t even try it for a while, when usually I’m ripping everything open to try it immediately.

Well, I used it. Talk about refreshing.

The directions say to spray onto skin in a fine mist and leave on for two to three minutes, then pat dry.

I tried the recommendation of using it after shaving, because sometimes my legs can be irritated. It’s very soothing, and has a pleasant smell as well.

It’s perfect for being outside and wanting to feel refreshed – just spray on your face, arms or legs.

It also works well with soothing sunburns.

As always, during the warmer, OK BLAZING months, try and always keep hydrated. It does wonders for your skin.

And SPF is your friend. You always want to keep protected from the sun.

Not only because of the cancer risks, which everyone knows, but protecting and keeping your skin as healthy as possible is the reason you might look 30 when you’re 60!
