Elliott Strickland chosen to lead Boy Scouts Susquehanna Council

The Susquehanna Council, Boy Scouts of America at their annual business meeting, held May 18, chose J. Elliott Strickland Jr. to serve as their volunteer president of the council.

Strickland, an Eagle Scout, is the chief student affairs officer at Pennsylvania College of Technology.

As the council president, Strickland will give leadership to the successful operation of the Scouting programs in Clinton, Lycoming, Northumberland, Snyder and Union counties.

During his acceptance of this responsibility, he said that during his term, “we as a Boy Scout Council must develop the resources, so that every youth will have the opportunity to experience the character development, citizenship training and fitness programs of Scouting.”

The council annually serves more than 2,000 families with 1,400 adult volunteers.
