Library to host ‘Successful Investing for Women’ program

Statistics show that women live longer, often work fewer years and earn less than their male counterparts, making smart investment decisions becomes even more critical to attaining their long-term goals.

These factors make it even more important for women to invest wisely and seek the knowledge and education to make sound investment decisions for a more certain financial future.

Join Renee Laychur, a chartered financial analyst, at 5:30 p.m. June 18 in the Lowry Room on the third floor of the Welch Family Wing for a discussion on women’s specific investment topics.

The session will include investment principles that participants can use to making their own investment decisions for their retirement plans, as well as other investment and savings accounts.

Laychur joined F.N.B. Wealth Management’s Investment Advisory Group as a senior vice president and managing portfolio advisor in 2008 as a result of the merger with Omega Financial. Prior to joining F.N.B. Wealth Management, Laychur served as the chief investment officer for Omega Bank Wealth Management.

Laychur is a graduate of College of William and Mary with a bachelor’s degree in business administration. In 1992 she completed the Chartered Financial Analyst program was awarded the C.F.A. Charter in September of that year. She is a member of the CFA Institute and the Baltimore Analyst Society.

Laychur has more than 25 years of diversified financial services experience including asset management, trust services, and financial and retirement planning. Her work experience ranges from community banks to large financial institutions. Currently she serves as the chair of F.N.B. Investment Advisors Inc. Equity Committee and is also a member of the Fixed Income and Funds and Models Committees. She frequently provides economic and market updates to a variety of groups and organizations.

A native of central Pennsylvania, Laychur is an active community volunteer and serves as a board member for the East Lycoming Education Foundation and YWCA Northcentral PA.
