Antique Automobile Club to hold auto show

The 52nd Annual Williamsport Antique Automobile Show, sponsored by the Susquehannock Region of the Antique Automobile Club of America, will be held on the Quad at Lycoming College on Saturday. Vehicle registration will be held from 8 to 11:30 a.m. The cars and trucks will be on display until 3 p.m., weather permitting.

Vehicles more than 25 years old (1989 and older) and in original or restored condition are eligible to enter the show. More than 130 vehicles dating from the early 1900s to 1989 are expected to be on display.

All vehicles on display must have a working fire extinguisher.

Car owners do not have to be a member of the Susquehannock Region AACA in order to participate.

The show is open to all antique cars or moderately modified production vehicles. The registration table will be on College Place, just off Washington Boulevard. There is a fee for day-of-show registration. The car show display is free and open to the public.

The show will include a display of Ford Mustangs to commemorate their 50th anniversary. Also a tribute to rear engine cars such as Corvair and Volkswagon will be on exhibit.

An added feature for children and youth will be the Hagarty Youth Judges program where youth volunteers will be given an opportunity to judge select antique cars.

Chief Judge Reeves reports that judging will be held from 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. PEER judging will be used at the show where participants will be asked to judge cars in a class other than their own.

Three awards are given in each of the 11 classes, along with a Best of Show trophy. A special award from the North Penn AAA will be awarded. All awards will be presented at 3 p.m.

There will be a concession trailer for light lunch and drinks, made available by the Warrensville Lions Club.

The meet will conclude on Sunday morning with a breakfast run.
