Williamsport Herb Guild to hold presentation

The Williamsport Herb Guild will present Yvonne Allen, from the Halcyon Place Bed and Breakfast and Herb Festival, at 7 p.m. July 21, at Covenant Central Presbyterian Church, 807 W. Fourth St.

Allen will speak on the herb on the year artemisia, and share information about her festival, which is held in May, in Campbell, New York. The presentation is open to the public.

Priestly House to hold summer history camp

NORTHUMBERLAND – The Joseph Priestly House will hold a summer history camp for students in grades one through six from 9 a.m. to noon July 23-25. There will be crafts, games, stories, snack time and visits with guest presenters during each day’s activities.

Annual book sale to be held

The annual book sale of the Friends of the Canton Green Free Library will be held July 24-26 at the former Burk’s Store, on Canton’s Main Square. Hours for the event are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on July 24 and 25, and 10 a.m. to noon July 26.

The sale includes used books donated by the general public as well as books from the library shelves, children’s books and media including DVDs, CDs and VHS cassettes.

Proceeds from the book sale and memberships all go to help fund library programs for children, youth and adults.

Upcoming reunion


The 75th reunion of the descendants of Daniel and Phebe Waltz will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday at the Buchanan Baptist picnic grove.

Meat will be provided and attendees should bring a casserole to share.

Musem to host children’s cooking workshops

BLOOMSBURG – The Children’s Museum, 2 W. Seventh St., will host a “Kid’s Cooking Workshop Series: Snack-Attack,” from 3 to 4 p.m. Wednesdays through Aug. 13. Children age six and up will learn about healthy food choices through hands-on learning and easy-to-assemble snacks.

CareerLink to host workshops

The Lycoming County CareerLink, 329 Pine St., will host the following two workshops to prepare participants for job interviews:

9:30 to 11 a.m. July 15, employer expectations at interviews – Attendees will be reviewed by a guest employer from Lowes.

9:30 to 11 a.m. July 22, Susquehanna Health System will offer pre-interview and post-interview advice to job seekers hoping to get into the health system. Registration is required for both workshops. To register, call 570-601-5465.
