September is Library Card Sign Up Month

September is Library Card Sign Up Month and the Union County Library System is encouraging Union County residents to sign up for a free library card.

Here are just a handful of resources patrons can use with a library card:

Check out, renew, place a hold on books, DVDs, audiobooks, music CDs and magazines.

Use public computers.

Make use of free internet.

Access in the library.

Utilize online resources.

Stream free movies, TV shows, audiobooks and music with no holds or late fees using Hoopla.

For those who already have a library card, stop in and make sure the card has not expired.

Library cards also have a six-digit pin number, which is used to sign up and login to online resources.

For more information on how to sign up for a library card, or if assistance with a pin number is needed, visit the Public Library for Union County, Herr Memorial Library or West End Library in person or online at
