Funeral home to hold Howl-O-Ween party and donation drive

JERSEY SHORE – Rearick-Carpenter Funeral Home will hold a “Howl-O-Ween” party donation drive from noon to 3 p.m. Oct. 30 at 1002 Allegheny St., to help benefit the Lycoming County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, who cares for more than 3,000 animals a year and relies on donations from the community.

From their many educational programs, to clinics and adoption events, the SPCA is a great place to consider if you would like to make an addition to your family. If you adopted your pet from the SPCA, whether it was a dog, cat, rat or anything in between, you are welcome to attend.

Bring your donations and mingle with your pets and participate in the Halloween pet costume contest. The contest will be held from 2-3 p.m. with judging at 3 p.m. Meet certified therapy dog, Chloe, who works at the Rearick-Carpenter funeral homes.

She is available to all families and makes visits to nursing homes, schools, libraries or any place that would benefit from canine comfort.

If you cannot attend and would like to donate, call 570-398-1730.

The SPCA wish list can be found either on Rearick-Carpenter’s facebook page or the SPCA’s website.

All varieties of well behaved pets are welcome. Please be sure to leash all dogs.
