Lycoming County Special Olympics fundraisers recently held

The White Deer Women Golfers Association, Fitness Factory and Shaylors Ponds & Patios all recently held fundraisers to benefit the Lycoming County Special Olympics.

The White Deer Women Goflers association hosted the Marion Stopper Tournment, which raised more than $700 to help buy sporting equipment for the Lycoming County Special Olympics.

The Fitness Factory, 330 Hughes St., also recently held “Step and Sangria Ladies Night Out,” where they transformed their open weight area into a vendor filled shopping adventure, to benefit the Lycoming County Special Olympics and its new sport, power lifting, by raising more than $1,100. Local vendors at the event donated a portion of their sales to the Special Olympics. The Fitness Factory also has agreed to partner with the Special Olympics to form the first power lifting competition team for the that will compete at the Special Olympic Fall Festival at Villanova University for the first time next year.

Additionally, Shaylors Ponds & Patios, 959 Dunkleburger Road, held a self-guided tour featuring ponds, pondless waterfalls and fountain displays that Shayler’s installed themselves in different homes locally to help raise more than $500 for the Special Olympics. Following the tour, attendees were invited to the business for a cookout.
