Library to hold book and movie night featuring ‘The Big Short’

The James V. Brown Library, 19 E. Fourth St., will hold a Book and Movie Night starting at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 30.

The featured title will be “The Big Short.” Read the book and join us to watch the movie on the library’s big screen. “The Big Short: Inside the Doomsday Machine” by Michael Lewis is available at the library to borrow.  The movie was released in 2015, is Rated R and stars Christian Bale, Ryan Gosling, Brad Pitt, Karen Gillan, Marisa Tomei and Steve Carell.

Join us for a relaxing evening of movie fun and a book discussion. This program is one of the many ways Pennsylvania public libraries support the PA Forward Initiative by providing civic and social literacy opportunities for learning.

The program will be presented in the Lowry Room on the third floor of the Welch Children’s Wing. Registration is suggested because pizza and pop will be provided. Visit calendar.jvbrown.edu to register or call 570-326-0536.

The James V. Brown Library is open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday; noon to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday; and 24/7 at www.jvbrown.edu .
