The Friends of the JVB Library to hold a musical book review luncheon

The Friends of the JVB Library will hold a musical book review luncheon at noon Dec. 2, in the Lowry Theatre of the Welch Family Wing of the Library. It is titled “Sing Me a Story” and features vocalist Lucy Henry accompanying herself on the dulcimer. Come and listen to ballads and folk songs that communicate a story through music.

Henry sings with the Williamsport Civic Chorus and has performed with VJQ, a vocal jazz quartet and Black Bear Crossing, an acoustic folk group. She is a frequent performer with the Williamsport Community Theater League, a flutist in the Flute Choir and performs with the Penn Central Wind Band. Henry was one of the founders of the local branch of the New Horizons Band and continues as one of the conductors.

We hope you will be able to attend and enjoy this program which is a departure from our usual book reviews. It promises to provide a delightful musical segue into the holiday season.

The luncheon will start at noon in the Lowry Room of the Welch Family wing of the James V. Brown Library. Those who wish may purchase lunch at noon.
