’Tis the season for homemade holiday gifts at the library
Everyone loves to receive a homemade gift made from the loving hands of a child. During the month of December, participants of all ages can create homemade holiday gifts at the James V. Brown Library, 19 E. Fourth St.
Children are encouraged to make two gifts: one they can take home and give away to a family member or friend, and one that will go into a gift bag at the library that will be given away in the community.
Come to the library on Monday to participate in one of two Book Bingo activities and then stay to register for the Homemade Holiday Gift programs.
Activities begin Dec. 5, and there are crafts for all ages: baby/wobbler, toddler, preschool, K-2, tweens, teens and families.
Some of the activities include a popsicle frame, happy jar, poetry coasters, wooden ornaments, hand-sewn journals, bath fizzlers, hand-print wreaths, stained-glass tissue paper ornaments and more.
Visit calendar.jvbrown.edu or call the library at 570-326-0536 to register. Registration is requested to ensure enough materials for all participants. All materials are provided.
This program is one of the many ways Pennsylvania public libraries support the PA Forward Initiative by providing civic and social literacy opportunities for learning.
The James V. Brown Library is open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday; noon to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday; and 24/7 at www.jvbrown.edu .
