Little League Museum announces ‘Show Love for Your League Month’

The World of Little League: Peter J. McGovern Museum and Official Store has announced its promotion of “Show Love for Your League Month,” which will run Feb. 1-28. Little Leaguers and friends who visit the museum in February will have the opportunity to earn 100 shoulder patches for their local league.

There are two ways to win. Visitors touring the museum will be asked if they are affiliated with a Little League or can identify their community’s Little League. The local league that receives the “most love” from all visitors by the end of the month will receive 100 free Little League official shoulder patches.

The second way local Little League programs can win is by having individuals take their photo while at the museum and allowing it to be posted on the museum’s Facebook page, facebook.com/LittleLeagueMuseum. Individuals and leagues are encouraged to share the photos on Facebook and the league with the most “likes” will earn 100 patches. Each of the prize packages is valued at $200.

“For more than a half century, millions of people around the world have proudly worn the Little League official patch on their uniforms,” said Lance Van Auken, Little League vice president and executive director of the museum. “This is the third year for our Show Love for Your Little League promotion. It’s a great way for local Little Leagues to have some friendly competition, before the real competition begins this Spring.”

The World of Little League, 525 Montgomery Pike, is open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. There is a fee for general admission with a discount for children 12 and under and for senior citizens age 62 and older. Children 4 and younger are free, as well as any Little Leaguer wearing a uniform shirt that includes the Little League official shoulder patch.
