Wellsboro Chamber to hold chili ‘taste off’

WELLSBORO — The third annual Chili With a Chance of Chocolate taste-off will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday in downtown Wellsboro.

There will be 19 chilis to taste at 18 different sites and an opportunity to win one or more than 19 baskets of chocolate through a drawing. Signs will be placed outside each chili tasting site to make it easy to spot the locations. Those who would like to participate by tasting the chili and selecting winners can visit the Wellsboro Area Chamber of Commerce to buy a passport. They then will select the chili entries that have earned his or her votes for first, second and third place and turn in the passport in order to talley the votes.

Passport holders can visit Century 21 Gold Star Real Estate for a bottle of water and to spin the wheel for a chocolate surprise.

Proceeds will benefit Second Chance Animal Sanctuaries.

Passports may be bought in advance at the Wellsboro Chamber of Commerce office, 114 Main St., or on Saturday starting at 9 a.m. at the chamber or from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in front of Penn Oak Realty, 65 Main St.. Each passport has a unique number and will include the location of the 18 businesses hosting the chili taste-off entries.

LuLaRoe Bingo fundraiser for Hayden’s Heart

LuLaRoe with Danielle and Becky will host a LuLaRoe Bingo fundraiser to benefit Hayden’s Heart from 2-5 p.m. Feb. 19 at DuBoistown Fire Hall, 2661 Euclid Ave.

The fundraiser will include a Chinese auction, refreshments and a kids corner.

There is a cost for the fundraiser with a discount for those who register online. Tickets also may be bought at the door.

Loyalsock Garden Club to hold meeting

The Loyalsock Garden Club will hold a meeting at 7 p.m. Feb. 20 at Faxon-Kenmar United Methodist Church, 1301 Clayton Ave. Robin Bernstein will lead a pewter making design presentation.

Sharon Hoffman, Linda Liptak, Mary Trometter, Becky Baker and Dorothy Lakatos will be the hostesses.
