Moments of Motherhood

10 things every mother needs to know

1. I am good enough

More often than not, I tell myself oppositely, but the truth is, I am. I am more than good enough.

2. I am needed

I’m very much needed. I was placed in this life for many reasons, but they are my reason. I’m so very much needed.

3. I must be grateful

I may not be content or very well never may be content, but I’m grateful, always grateful. Even on the hardest days, I can find blessings everywhere.

4. I am incredible

I have created and brought a miracle into this world. I have done the unthinkable. Sometimes I forget just how incredible this body truly is. My mind, body and soul are, without a doubt, absolutely incredible.

5. I would be missed

Despite not always feeling appreciated or when the little things (and sometimes big things) go unnoticed, I realize how much I would be missed if I were not here.

6. I am strong

I am strong, much stronger than I give myself credit for. I have done and will do more than what is required, and it’s His strength that gets me through.

7. I am appreciated

It may not always be shown and it may not always be said, but I am appreciated. I know I am and will try to remember this on the days it may not be communicated as much as I’d like.

8. I must make myself a priority

When there is no time, I must make time. When everyone else needs me, I know I must carve out the time to make myself a priority. If I’m not taken care of, I won’t be able to fully take care of anyone else.

9. I will do my best

I will do my best. Not her best or that mother’s best, or play the dangerous game of comparison … but rather my best. I will try to become the best version of myself, daily.

10. I am loved

How often I forget how loved I truly am. Sometimes through their words, other times through their actions and often through their embrace of hugs and kisses, they show me and remind me. This is the greatest gift of all, to be loved … and I am.

This is the real deal of parenting, my fellow mamas. Read this each morning if you need to. You are amazing.
