• WATERVILLE — A ham dinner will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 21 at the Waterville fire hall, 11009 N. Route 44.
There is a cost for the dinner with discounts for children 4-12. Children 3 and under are free.

• LEWISBURG — Buffalo Valley Recreation Authority (BVRA) will host Cupcake Wars from 1-4 p.m. at the Masonic Lodge.
Children will be paired in teams of two, racing to create cupcakes.
Participants will transform cupcakes into their representation of what other foods look like, called “Cupcake Imposters.” Creations will be judged and prizes will be awarded.
Participants also will have the opportunity to make their cupcakes gluten free, for any participants that has allergies.

• The Thomas T. Taber Museum of the Lycoming County Historical Society, 858 W. Fourth St., will host a Society Program at 2 p. m. in its Community Room. Admission is free.
The guest speaker will be Don King, whose talk is titled “Symbiosis: The Importance of Armstrong Township to Montoursville Through the History of This Whole Valley.” The talk is free and open to the public.
King is the author of “The Story of Montoursville: From Otstonwakin to the Present.” His book is available in the Museum Store.

• MIFFLINBURG — The Susquehanna Valley Spinners and Weavers Guild will hold their monthly meeting at the Masonic Lodge, 361 Chestnut St. Social time begins at 1:30 p.m. and the meeting will begin at 2 p.m.
Master knitter, Lily Chin will share her work as well as her journey as a fiber artist.

• MONTGOMERY — The Montgomery Area Historical Society’s annual spring open house will be held from 2-4 p.m. at Stone Church at the Allenwood Federal Correctional Complex.
President Larry Stout will present a program about American Pulitzer prize-winning writer Conrad Richter at 2:45 p.m.
The Stone Church Cemetery also will be open to the public. Cemetery burial charts will be available. White Deer Valley genealogy expert Paul Metzger also will be available to answer questions.
• LINDEN — Local forager and herbalist, Geoffrey Haun, will lead an edible and medicinal plant identification walk through field and forest from 2:30-4:30 p.m. May 21 at 2703 Pine Run Road. The event is open to the public and there is a fee to participate.
Participants will learn to identify and harvest wild edible and medicinal plants, discover native “super foods” and medicines that have been clinically proven to be as effective as modern drugs.
The wild food focus will be on spring greens for salads, steaming or sauteing and for medicines, the focus will be on plants that are disinfectant, hemostatic and analgesic. Participants will make a salad from greens they have collected and have the opportunity to harvest plants to take home.
Haun has more than 30 years of experience in identification, preparation and use of wild plants for food and medicine.

• The Disabled American Veterans Mobil Office will be available to veterans from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at K-Mart, 1915 E. Third St.
The services are free and provide professional support throughout the claims and appeals process. Attendees must bring their identification, social security number and any pertinent documentation regarding their military service. DAV membership is not required.

• Dunkin Donuts restaurants across Northeastern Pennsylvania will host a day-long fundraising event to benefit the Children’s Miracle Network at Geisinger. All Dunkin Donuts in the region will offer a free medium iced coffee to customers who make a specified cash donation.
THURSDAY
• The Salvation Army, 457 Market St., will hold a Living Financially Healthy class at 5 p.m.
The class, which will be lead by Aron Carter and Jill Morrissey from Jersey Shore State Bank, covers topics such as credit, budgeting and any other financial questions you and-or your clients may have.
The class is open to the public. Those who complete the workshop will receive a certificate of completion and a voucher to the thrift store.

• MUNCY — The new local Regional of the Model A Restorers Club, to be called the West Branch A’s, will hold a meeting at 6 p.m. at the Vineyard Community Activity Center, 99 Sherman St.
The meeting will include an election of interim officers and a discussion of some proposed activities, including possible attendance at local car shows and travel to the Gettysburg National MARC meeting in late July and early August.
Attendees are encouraged to drive their restored Model A Ford or another vehicle to the event. Ownership of a Model A is not required.

• The annual Civil War soldiers Memorial Day ceremony will be held at 9 a.m. at the Wildwood Cemetery GAR Circle.
The ceremony will be conducted by members of the 11th Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry, N-SSA, in uniform.
The ceremony will last 45 minutes and include commemorative cannon firing.
Spectators may bring lawn chairs. Attendees should not park around the circle.
JUNE 3
• The Thomas T. Taber Museum of the Lycoming County Historical Society, 858 W. Fourth St., will hold the “YesterShoppe!” indoor yard sale from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Donation of items are needed. The items will be accepted at the museum from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m,. Tuesdays through Fridays. The only items not accepted are clothing and magazines. Pick up may be possible if arranged ahead of time.

• EAST CANTON — Rekindle the Spirit will hold a blacksmith class from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Manley-Bohlayer Heritage Farm Blacksmith Shop, Route 414 at East Canton Crossroad.

Participants will make an item of their choosing during the class.
