Library to hold program about planting bulbs with master gardener
October is the perfect time to plant spring flowering bulbs. They are easy to find, relatively inexpensive, and easy to grow. At 6 p.m. Oct. 2, the James V. Brown Library, 19 E. Fourth St., will host the program, “Planting and Forcing Spring Bulbs,” to help participants learn how to purchase, plant, and protect your bulbs. In addition, we will also explore the practice of forcing bulbs for winter blooms.
The program will be presented by Kathy Lehman, a retired counselor who is enjoying her second year as a Master Gardener. She enjoys working in both her vegetable and flower gardens. She attributes her love of flowers to her mother who was an avid gardener.
The program will be presented in the Lowry Room on the third floor of the Welch Children’s Wing. Registration is suggested, but not required. Visit calendar.jvbrown.edu to register or call 570-326-0536.
The James V. Brown Library is open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday; noon to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday; and 24/7 at www.jvbrown.edu.
