Area Bridge Club results reported
Following are the highest-scoring players in the area bridge games reported to the Sun-Gazette:
Williamsport Bridge Club
Oct. 2 — Lynn Henry and Ann Day, 65; Judy Stein and Mary Ann Churba, 62; Kay Dando and Saly Manning, 59; Lisa Godin and Russ Palkendo, 57; David Winters and Glenn Frazier, 57; Lois Wentzler and Sue Pierce, 54.
Oct. 4 — Amy Pitou and Joyce Wilson, 33; Mary Ann Churba and Judy Stein, 32; Ann Collins and Marge Winder, 27; David Winters and Shirley Lovcik, 25.
Oct. 5 — Swiss Team: Vince and Diane Bardsley, 2 wins; Joy Proctor and Marge Winder, 2 wins; Joyce Wilson and Bruce Myers, 2 wins.
The Susquehanna Sectional Bridge Tournament was held at the Bridge House on High Street on Oct. 6-8. Judy Stein and Mary Ann Churba were chairpersons. Sue Pierce, Amy Pitou and Joyce Wilson also helped with the preparations. Bob Cole of Allentown was the ACBL director of the three-day tournament. Barbara Mateer and David Hoover of State College were the winners of the most master points, with 14.71 each.
There were 52 bridge players who attended. The following players who play locally and earned more than 3 points are as follows: Don Dascher and Lynn Henry, 10.15 each; Michael Anesko, 9.88; Ed Bissell and Mary Ann Churba, 7.78 each; Judy Stein, 7.43; Gene Waltz, 5.78; Joy Proctor, 3.66; Dave Marcello, 3.34; and Sally Manning, 3.25.
Bridge results will be published in the Sunday Lifestyle section. All results must be in writing and received by the Sun-Gazette at least six days in advance of the day of publication. None will be accepted by phone.
